ESTY HOUSE is located in the Washington Park area of downtown Ithaca.  Early maps show a recording of the house in 1893 sited on a half acre of land. Built as a modest two story single family home, initial residents were laborers, blacksmiths, hostlers, salesmen, carpenters, and patrolmen. During the early 1900's many Italian immigrants populated this neighborhood, with large extended families, lush gardens, grapevines, and small businesses.  For nearly sixty years one family owned 220 Esty Street, housing a dentist's practice and a family residence.

Since 2005, the current owners, Barbara Brazill and Don Ruff, have been busy restoring and renovating the house, while also planting bountiful vegetable and perennial gardens. The first floor of ESTY HOUSE is the owners' private residence, and the entire second floor is the guest apartment- a space transformed from the original four bedrooms and main bath of the house.  The upstairs flat was created with fine craftsmanship, artistic intention, and quality design, with attention to detail and an added touch of whimsy... Traveling to auctions, estate sales, and thrift shops,  the owners have gathered and crafted the eclectic furnishings, art, and treasures, to provide guests with both comfort and delight! The essential extra features include the luxurious beds, fine linens, and carefully chosen amenities.

A stay at ESTY HOUSE allows visitors the genuine comfort of home with the pleasures of a pampered guest!
